Geelong Freedivers Club
Established 2015
The Geelong Freedivers are an Australian Underwater Federation (AUF) affiliated Spearfishing and Freediving club.
The club was established in 2015. Club activities are predominantly based in Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the South West Victorian coastline.
The clubs purpose is to maintain a presence in the South West region of Victoria, enabling those interested in freediving to network, train and explore underwater activities with a safety first and community-minded approach.
Pool Training
Pool training is one of the more frequent club activities, and allows members to work on their dive form and technique under the guidance of our club coaches, or as a way to work on their own diving fitness.

Monthly Club Catch-ups
We hold a monthly club catch-up on the second Wednesday of each month at the Sir Charles Hotham hotel in Geelong starting at 6:30pm.
These get-togethers are a great way to meet and socialise with fellow club members, discuss upcoming club events, get information about gear or sites, and keep up to date with club and general underwater related news.
Meetings are open to members and non-members alike, so even if you aren’t in the club, feel free to drop in and say hello.
We hold a members social dive on the first Sunday of each month. These dives are a good way to meet fellow club members, find dive buddies, test out new gear, or seek advice from our club coaches in our “Spearo Clinics’. Best of all, it’s a great excuse to get in the water!
Competitions
A number of competitions have been held over the years. These have included spearfishing, photo and pool events.
Some members participate in freediving competitions held in diving locations overseas.
We also participate in competitions held by the Southern Freedivers Club and those sponsored by the Victorian Spearfishing Commission.
Camping Trips
We occasionally hold a club trips to various locations in and out of the state. These events are typically over long weekends based on member interest.
